Transit (Film and dance project)

Assisted by a General Arts Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland this research project will use dance, film and text to develop a theatre performance piece about a female migrant worker from Poland

· Research migrant worker experience in Northern Ireland through filmed interviews
· Collaborate and develop dance methodology with dancer/choreographer Anne Gilpin
· Develop a lyrical text style using migrant worker interviews.
· Develop a storyline with a focus on migrant worker's physical, emotional and psychological journey.
· Research film projection options for performance.

To date a number of migrant worker interviews have been completed as well as location filming in Krakow, Poland. In May 2008 dancer Anne Gilpin and myself spent 5 days developing a number of dance and film sequences.
